We've all experienced it. The first flakes of snow start to fly, and we go to grab our skis. Unfortunately we had not properly stored them in the off-season, and the tips are nearly flat! Flat tips = face plant!! Should have used an Allcock Laight and Westwood Co. Ski-spanner!!!
Well this hasn't happened in a while because laminated wood skis have been common since the 1950s. But back when skis were solid wood, their tips had been heated and steamed into shape, and if they weren't clamped with a gizmo like this in the off-season they would lose their curve.
Great display item for the ski collector. Skis in picture are not included in sale - for demonstration purposes only.
Box is falling apart but it is all there. I haven't taped anything.
