For over 100 years, Bergans of Norway has been a leading producer of outdoor sports equipment, focusing on hiking, camping, and skiing. Founder Ole Ferdinand Bergan invented the external frame backpack, and this example shows the evolution of the style.
This is a small "kids' size" backpack (approx 15-litre capacity) but in reality I could wear it and I'm a fairly big guy (for a moose). Sporting a classic external steel frame, this backpack is incredibly comfortable to wear, even when carrying heavy loads. Two external pockets provide additional storage and allow quick access to supplies.
Bearing its original markings, including a mysterious "NUH 1930-1970" patch, the backpack will be great for display, or better, use for its intended purpose!!
