You think Norwegians only ski? Or speed skate? Nope, they play hockey, too. And for that you need hockey skates. They also play this game called bandy, which is sort of a free-range hockey, which also uses skates.
Anyway, these skates were produced by Gresvig, which was a big Norwegian sporting goods maker in the middle part of the 20th century (the "19s" to us Gen-X and older). They made skis under the Splitkein name, bindings under the Kandahar name, and skates, among other things. This pair has a cool burgundy leather with black stripes, which set them apart from other skates. Great display piece, or for use by the iron-ankled!!!
