Who says the alpine skiers in the 70s had all the style?? Vintage "Ashcrofter by Aspen" bib knickers for cross-country skiing. These are a time piece. Pair them with knicker socks and a turtleneck, and you'll slip back to the days of polyester and leaded gas. Size men's large - I estimate that these will be comfortable for a guy up to about 5' 10" (178cm) - I'm 6' 1" (185cm) and the shoulder straps are tight. Otherwise they would be in my closet!
Don't have knicker socks? They are hard to find these days. While opportunistic sellers might charge $60 - $70 a pair for vintage Wigwams (hey, I'd do it too if I could find them; I run a business! :-)), you can get by with "over-the-calf" ski socks from places like Darn Tough in Vermont. Newer socks come in some fun patterns and colours, so you can compliment your knicker purchase with some individuality. Personally I have a few pair of Darn Tough USA stars-and-stripes socks which I pair with some vintage Tenson (Sweden) knickers. The USA socks are comfortable, just long enough, and evoke the "relay sock" look that the current USA World Cup cross-country skiers deploy for team events. There are plenty of other styles.

Also watch THIS store - I am having discussions with a couple of sock makers about doing an order of knicker socks, specially for Skifabrikk.
