In the 70s and 80s, Rex was one of the "big three" Nordic ski wax manufacturers, along with Rode of Italy and the one based in Norway. Because of the relatively arid climate in Finland, Rex waxes were developed to work best in dry, cold conditions, and are still popular when the location or weather calls for that.
After you put all that wax on, however, you need to take it off. And you can do that in style with this fashionable Alvar Aalto-designed* triangle-shaped scraper from the 1970s. 2 sides plastic, and one side metal, the latter just sharp enough to destroy the bases of those new plastic-bottomed skis everyone had just bought but still didn't know how to care for.
