Landsem was a leading manufacturer of racing skis in the 60s and 70s. By the 1980s they had been overshadowed by alpine ski manufacturers from the continent such as Rossignol and Fischer, who left the Nordic manufacturers flat-footed. By the late 1980s Landsem had been absorbed into Madshus, a brand that exists to this day.
