Splitkein literally means "split cane" in Norwegian. This brand was the descendent of some of the first laminated wood skis from the 1930s, and tied to the Ullevoldsæter/Østbye patent. The early 70s was the end of the road for wood skis, but by then ski makers had the process figured out. This example is in great condition, and has had its tops and bases refinished to preserve the skis for the next 50 years. There are a few scuffs that are normal for a ski of its age. The 75mm Rottefella bindings will be removed for shipping, to protect the surface of the skis.
