"Cool skis, bro". Why, thank you. Cool they are. And who says you need some fancy ski binding to hold your feet on when you have an old bicycle tire and some leather hanging around the house? Not the Finns. These are official, stamped, Lampinen skis from we reckon the 1940s. They are beautiful timepieces that could still be used today. Made of solid birch or hickory (I'm an accountant not an arborist), the skis retain all of the patina that they have acquired over the years.
Porvoo, the former home of Lampinen skis, is about an hour north east of Helsinki, in the direction of the WOODSKI CAPITAL OF THE WORLD, Simpele-Rautjärvi in South Karelia.
