Finse is the high point on the Oslo - Bergen train line. Unreachable by car, it is a winter sports paradise. At 1222 meters (just over 4,000 ft), Finse boasts a long ski season. In late April it is the starting point for the famous Skarverennet ski tour (highly recommended experience!). Despite the date, this event is no slush-fest, as the last pictures in this listing show, taken in Finse on the day of the tour in 2024.
These skis, named after this famous location, were made in the 1960s by Kongsberg skifabrikk for the Gresshoppa brand, which was best known as a maker of ski bindings. This pair has seen very careful use in its long life, and minimal touch-ups to the tops and bases were required. The latter have been treated to a fresh coat of pine tar to make these skis ready for the coming winter. 75mm Rottefella Fønix bindings may be removed for shipping.
