If we told you that these skis just popped out of the factory in Hartola, we might believe it.  Lightly used, but with RACE PEDIGREE.  Bearing "PH" race stamps from back in the day.  After doing some extensive (Facebook) research, we heard from a very nice person in Finland with a lot of vowels in their name that the PH might refer to Pirkkalan Hiihtäjät, which is a ski club in a town near Tampere, where we picked these beauties up.  We even reached out to the ski club and received the following response, "Probably not, but who knows what aboriginals of PirHi had used in history".  A+ for humour! but we're going with the original idea!

All kidding aside, what we have here is a pair of 1970-ish vintage wood cross-country racing skis.  These things are LIGHT.  The reaction of anyone who picks them up for the first time is "well I'll be an Ukney's Monkle".  They really did pull out all the stops to make wood skis light - air cores, balsa stuffin', birch base.  Plus these skis are narrow AF - 48mm.  Compare to race skis today!
