Now don't you get your knickers in a knot; we are both right. You are right that the letter "ö" is not used in modern Norwegian, the "ø" fills the same role. So you would have to ask Ivar Halvorsen (see below), if you still could, why Blå-Skia used an ö in the word löype. Swedish and Danish use an ö, and "Halvorsen" sounds sort of Swedish, so maybe that's the way they rolled.
ANYWAY, Blå-Skia ("The Blue Ski") was a Norwegian craft ski maker that never produced more than 10,000 pair in a year. This paled in comparison to some of its rivals who ramped production to over 100,000 at the height of the wood ski era.
Ivar Halvorsen's company, based in Nittedal, right outside of Oslo, specialized in racing skis but also made some well-built touring skis such as these. "Löype" (or Løype) means "trail".
The skis currently have mounted on them a pair of classic Rottefella "Gull" two-piece three-pin ("bred" - 79mm) bindings, but there is evidence that previously they had Kandahar cable bindings. But the Gulls look right at home.
These skis are in remarkable condition for their age. The bases have been refinished by the rock stars at Skifabrikk, and the tops touched up and polished to perfection. You may just want to put them in the corner and stare at them!
Bindings may be removed for shipment, to protect the ski bases from damage.
