Anyone can get their wood skis in brown.  And blue became common over the years.  But bold red?  Not so much.  Stand out of the crowd with these vintage beauties!!!

Åsnes skis have been around in some form for over 100 years.  The company started in the Fjaler municipality, on the coast a bit north of Bergen and south of Trondheim.  Åsnes is one of two Norwegian brands from the days before the fiberglass ski revolution, that is still made (Madshus is the other).

These skis are from the 1970s and show wood ski evolution at its peak.  Beautiful coloring with painted graphics.  Hickory base with lignostone edges.  Many, many Åsnes skis were exported to the USA and Canada, under the Åsnes name or branded by retailers such as EMS.  This pair was picked up outside of Oslo recently, so it was made for the local market.

There are some surface scratches on the top, but most have been buffed out or filled.  The result belies the skis' age.  The bases have been refinished to Skifabrikk's high standard.  75mm 3-pin bindings complete the package.
