Anyone here heard of STEIN ERIKSEN????  Well sure you have.  The 1952 Norwegian winter Olympic hero split for Sun Valley shortly after his medal-winning success, and spent the rest of his life working in the ski industry in the USA.

Stein's brother Marius was also an accomplished skier, as well as a military flying ace.  Like Stein he also possessed movie star good looks, and had a film career in the 1950s.  There is also a well-known Norwegian sweater pattern named after him.  Now that's a full life!

When these two brothers weren't busy stealing your wife or pursuing any of the above-mentioned activities, they found time to lend their name to a brand of skis manufactured by Bjørn Ullevoldsæter's skifabrikk in Nittedal. (see "Fra Ullevoldsæter til Blå-Skia", p. 18; available for sale from Skifabrikk)  Because we are talking about the 1950s here, of course the markings on the skis hint at the space age - their "streamline" design will make them jets on snow.

This particular set has standard Kandahar-style cable bindings, common for the era, with side hooks to keep the boot heels on the skis for downhills.  Just don't wipe out, because these aren't modern safety bindings that release during a fall.  Your lower leg is likely to be twisted 180 degrees!!!  Screw-in steel edges will allow you to carve even the sharpest turns.

We have done very little to these skis other that wash them down with some Murphys and slap a coat of urethane on the tips to protect the decals that are a bit flaky.  Other than that they are in the condition they were when they took their last run!
