It's hard to believe that these skis are 60 years old. They have seen limited use - the tops are in almost pristine shape and the bases look barely used with the exception of some scratches. These boards don't have much camber, but that can be fixed if you have a sauna handy, or ignored if you just want to display them.
Madshus in Biri, Norway, has been making skis for over 100 years, and for the last 75+ from the same humble facility just south of Lillehammer. In fact if you drive by you can still see the sheds behind the factory where materials were stored before the switchover to fiberglass in the 1970s. This pair of touring skis hails from the 1960s and features lignostone edges. The bindings are classic cable-style, made by Røyken Jern, an ironworks that apparently made bindings on the side. This type of binding can accommodate nearly any type of boot if adjusted correctly. The cables themselves were salvaged from a pair of similar-type Jofa bindings we had laying about.
