A lot of these old Norwegian skis come from places south of Oslo, in areas where it doesn't snow that much anymore. Andebu is such a place; halfway between the capital and Kristiansand. Back in the day, the Gravdal ski factory churned out all sorts of skis, including this nice pair of mid-60s jumpers.
200cm is actually a very short jumping ski, or "hoppski" as they Norwegians call them. These were likely used by someone short, either a youth or a small adult. This is backed up by the length of the cable in the bindings - the boots used were small. The good news is that short jumping skis are easier to ship!
The real selling point of these skis, other than their overall condition, is the sparkly blue-green paint that was used. It's absolutely beautiful. And with regular application of Turtle Wax, these skis will continue to shine for generations!!! The bases were originally hickory, but an epoxy coating has been applied, either at the factory or afterwards. This has worn in spots, suggesting that the user didn't live in a place with a lot of snow.
Normally we would joke with the buyer to have a go with the purchase, but we're not sure that taking a flying leap on a pair of 60-year-old jumping skis is a great idea. So, if you do it and get hurt, it's not our fault.
