Splitkein literally means "split cane" in Norwegian. This brand was the descendent of some of the first laminated wood skis from the 1930s, and tied to the Ullevoldsæter/Østbye patent. The early 70s was the end of the road for wood skis, but by then ski makers had the process figured out. This example is in great condition, and has had its tops and bases refreshed to preserve the skis for the next 50 years. Classic Rottefella "Gull" (gold) two-piece 71mm racing bindings and Geze "pop up" heel plates complete the package.
