It's hard to believe that these skis are 60 years old.  They have seen limited use, and the bases have been refinished, tarred, and buffed to a shine.  The tops are in almost pristine shape with the exception of a few scratches (see pic) that have been expertly touched up.  The tip logos have been re-done using techniques common at the time the skis were made.

Madshus in Biri, Norway, has been making skis for over 100 years, and for the last 75+ from the same humble facility just south of Lillehammer.  In fact if you drive by you can still see the sheds behind the factory where materials were stored before the switchover to fiberglass in the 1970s.  This pair of touring skis hails from the 1960s and features lignostone edges.  The bindings are classic cable-style, made by Røyken Jern, an ironworks that apparently made bindings on the side.  This type of binding can accommodate nearly any type of boot if adjusted correctly.
