This is a lovely pair of early 1970s wood touring skis from Karhu. "Lumi" is the word for snow in Finnish, and these skis will be perfect for gliding on snow or hanging on your wall. Note that when we purchased the skis, one tip was nearly sheared off, but the skilled craftspeeps at Skifabrikk have used their extensive knowledge to solidly re-attach this tip and bring the affected ski back to near-new condition. See pics. That said, if you were considering an attempt on the North Pole with these, you might want to consider another option.
The bindings are a standard 4 pin model that was very common in Finland until the mid-seventies. The bases of the skis have been reconditioned by the experts at Skifabrikk, using traditional techniques. A solid coating of pine tar has been burned in to protect the bases from the elements.
