If I were shorter, I would keep these skis and use them. Beautiful pair of 80 year old solid wood (likely hickory or birch) cross-country skis from Finland. The "V" medallion on one tip suggests that they were a product of the Valtonen ski factory, which thrived for 70 years until it was (figuratively) steamrolled by the fiberglass ski revolution of the 1970s. These skis were just "imported" from Suomi herself.
The skis sport 4-pin 2-piece clamp-style bindings, which still work. There is the faint appearance of a serial number on one of the skis above the binding, supporting the claim that these are factory-made. Lovely etching outlines the top of each ski.
