Esko Järvinen was already an accomplished ski racer when he decided to apply his knowledge to the manufacture of skis. Based in Lahti, Finland, Järvinen made skis and poles for both racers and ski tourers. This pair hails from the 1970s and features an attempt by Järvinen to solve the biggest problem that plagued wood-base skis: how to keep them free of glide-sucking moisture.
"Phenowood" is likely some epoxy-based product that was applied to a hickory wood base. Not sure of the ingredients in Phenowood, but if it's from the 1970s, no doubt it would cause frogs to grow 3 legs if too much of it was poured into a pond!
This pair has never been drilled/skied and has been lovingly cleaned up by the pros at Skifabrikk. Graphics are in great condition.
