Järvinen of Lahti, Finland, was the premier manufacturer of cross-country skis in the country from the 1930s to the 1980s. The "Erikoiskilpa" label on equipment meant it was top-of-the line - the word means "special racing". These poles were about as advanced as Finnish poles got until Exel came on the scene in the mid-70s. The handles and straps look pretty rudimentary, but they worked!
