Sigmund Ruud was a champion ski jumper from Norway who ran a ski shop in Oslo after he retired. He sold skis and poles under his brand into the 1970s, and this pair of poles is a nice example. Beautiful leather handles and straps, and black plastic baskets. One of the poles has been split, at the bottom, as happens with bamboo poles. It has been repaired by the experts at Skifabrikk, using traditional methods, and is back to its original strength!
These poles have been all over the USA, evidenced by the Trapp Family Lodge (Stowe, VT) and Royal Gorge (Soda Springs, CA) trail passes!
