You're not going to find a better example of a vintage cross-country ski racing pole than these mid-60s fiberglass Liljedahls. Liljedahl, of Lillehammer Norway, was an innovator in ski pole design. These white fiberglass examples were an attempt to minimize weight and maximize stiffness. The logos on the poles themselves are a time capsule - the Liljedahl logo at the time of manufacture featured the coat of arms of the town of Lillehammer, and the "VM staven" badging on the poles is the original incarnation, used briefly before being updated.
These poles were acquired in Norway from an octogenarian still living in the Trøndelag region - they were his racing poles in the late 60s and early 70s when he was competing on the club biathlon circuit!
Rare 145cm length - poles were measured up to the armpit back in the "old days", meaning that a 145cm was sized for someone approx 6' 1" / 185cm, making them some of the longest poles manufactured at the time.
