Not every item we find is in perfect condition. This set of poles is an example. "Korpela" poles were common in Finland in the 1960s. The baskets were normally made of pieces of wicker that were bent into a circle somehow , with the ends clamped together with a metal ring. One of the baskets on this pair didn't get the memo that it was to stay in that position into perpetuity. We muscled it back into shape with the clever use of a thin saw. See pics.
