Beautiful pair of Norwegian Sparta brand poles. Sparta made cross-country poles for ski touring until the 1970s. This pair has all of the classic features - leather handle, leather straps, bamboo shafts, and bamboo 4-point leather ring baskets. A great time piece from the period right before plastic and composite materials took over Nordic equipment. The lacing on one of the handles is slightly frayed - see pic.
