Bamboo poles were sometimes referred to as "Tonkin" poles due to where the wood was sourced from - the land surrounding the Gulf of Tonkin - modern day Vietnam and China. Liljedahl was the dominant ski pole manufacturer in Norway in the 60s and 70s, continuing to this day as Swix. These touring poles are in nice shape and feature orange baskets and handles. Note that the handles were subject to a science experiment at some point so are melted in a couple of places.
