The Odd B. Eide Skistavfabrikk (ski pole factory) was a leading maker of ski poles in Norway in the 1960s and 1970s.  Eide poles were a favorite of racers, as the company took a scientific approach to material selection and design to make poles that were light and efficient.  The Skilom brand that was marketed in the US and Canada in the 1970s used Eide-manufactured poles.
